Cell Tower Site Count and lease counts are mostly inaccurate.Posted October 24, 2014 by admin
Surprisingly, there is no sure fire cell site location count in the United States. This is one of the reasons why it’s difficult to track cell site leases and cell site values. The FCC doesn’t require cell towers to be registered if they are below 200 feet. Here is a recent cell tower count of sites over 200 feet by state.
This chart can be misleading since most of the cell sites in the urban areas are below 200 feet. The most recent cell site count puts the amount of cell site locations in the United States around 350K locations. This also includes rooftop and water tanks as well. Cell site values will vary wildly depending on the location and the carriers located on the site.
